Frills, sparkles and girliness.

Finally the middle one got her dancing lesson yesterday. OVERJOYED is an understatement. I am guessing she didn't actually do any dancing (what with having her Mother's genes and all that). BUT she got to wear her leotard and sparkly tapping shoes along with 8 other girls also all frilled up to the nines. Told big sister all about it and when she got home, I overheard her telling her favourite teddy all about her dancing lesson and her teacher loved her.
And you know what was best, all us Mummies admitted that actually WE loved it! Yes, they had the more expensive twinkling shoes because we wanted them. (We could have pretended we were pressurised by our children and their pester power, but no we were all honest!) We enjoyed our girls dressing up as ballerinas and we embraced the shallowness of ourselves! After all in two years time pink will be thrown out the window, dancing lessons shunned and they will have all painted their rooms black for their 5 year old gothic stage.

And it may have cost a fifty pounds to get her kitted out, but it has already cost less than £5 a wear. She is so in love with her dancing kit, she is asleep and in her little sweaty palms are her beloved sparkly tapping shoes. I feel proud and like the perfect Mummy, enabling to give her an activity she truly enjoys.

Awwwww, I bet she looked fab all kitted up. I'm so glad she loved the whole dressing up, the dancing, the class, the sparkles, the frill etc. Sounds brilliant!
