I wonder to myself once I am ensconced in the whirl of adults and commodity deals if I will ever lose the habit of seeing the world through children's eyes?
If I see farm animals in fields as I drive along I get excited and point it out to the children passengers.
I cannot stop myself from cutting my sandwiches into 4 small bits before I realise that I don't have a small mouth.
Will I lose track of the latest new character on cbeebies? (I had a friend over on Friday evening who hadn't a clue who Igglepiggle was)
Will I still crunch through the fallen leaves because it is better fun than avoiding them?
Will I cut apples up sideways to see the magic star in the middle?
What else will I leave behind as I fall into the habit of being an adult again?
I think I will have to work hard to save myself from returning to myself.

Don't worry, you will still do those things and when you make your lunch from left over animal shape pasta and open it at work you will smile. When your 3 year old gives you a present that 'you can take to work with you Mummy', you will smile every time you look at the toy coin and teddy bear card wrapped in a toy £20 note.
You will smile when you see the spare trousers and pants you forgot to drop off with your child when you look in your bag.
You can amuse your colleagues by producing a different toy/book or other object from your handbag and asking if anyone wants to play/have a story.
