Cafe culture.

I'm giving up cooking....

It all started 2 weeks ago. The husband returns from work at 7pm. EVERYONE knows that the lead up to 7pm is a busy time in any household with pre-schoolers. So on days I have juggled the bath etc and prepared the husband a meal, quite frankly is a miracle. On the days when meals are just being started at 7pm, I think is understandable. But 2 weeks ago, it wasn't. Every meal was moaned about... from being "Too late for a hungry boy"... to "it's like the slop your Mother makes"...

I personally think his insisting he had to be away all the following week, deprived of his home comforts with Hotel food and a bed all to himself, was probably a bit of an over the top reaction to my culinary skills. But there we go. That is his choice.

The children are so like their Father it is untrue. It has been like a flaming cafe with all the different demands they insist on. The correct shaped sandwhich, pickle but not too spicy, orange JUICE not squash. One has to have a white plate, another likes an orange cup. None of them want peas.

So now the husband has returned. I am going on strike. they can sort themselves out.

Sounds like every house with school kids. Our kids get what they are given. As my Mother used to say, "don't like it? lump it!"

I find myself saying, "It isn't a restaurant you know!?" all too often.

Made me LOL.
