Selling houses, the Scotch way.

Scrubbed, scrubbed and then some more. Flowers on display, beds made. I did the shake n vac dance around the whole house. (Go buy some, it is very therapeutic being a 1970's housewife). And then we went out to a local coffee house to make a mess on their floor.

Today was the first day of "Open Viewings". Our estate agent / solicitor had assured us, it is what is done in these parts to get the best price. We had to sit in and wait from 2-4 and let in any Tom Dick or Harry who presented themselves.

DH was sent away with Muttley and smallest, (Yes it was POURING with rain but Muttley should be renamed Houdini and cannot be trusted!!)

I tried to present to eldest smalls in the dining room in Boden style colouring in poses (except one was dressed as The Wicked Queen from Sleeping Beauty and the other wanted to leap about the room to the i-pod)

So then I waited (and tweeted ... ah yes, new phone is indeed very good for numpty phone users) to see if anyone would come to view my house. I had no idea if it had been viewed on the Internet (well not true, I KNOW all my facebook chums have viewed it...) and if in this *housing market* anyone was looking for houses in our price bracket.

Well, I be jiggered, the first lot arrived early (apologising profusely for being early) and at one point there were four independent couples mooching about the house.

I have no idea if it was a Sunday afternoon hobby for any or all of them. And now I am sitting and pondering if any of them want to buy my house. I don't think I inadvertently showed a door to door salesman my house.

LOL! I distinctly remember my parents showing prospective buyers rounsd our house whehn we were very small. Me and my brother spent the whole time trampolining on the beds :D.

I'm now singing the shake and vac song in my head....

I had to run to the loo everytime one of the smalls went, just in case they left a present in it for a viewer to see!!

Shake and vac is so annoying as it goes nowhere, i'm a little liveral with the sprinkles but still, if you want to hoover the whole house (upstairs too) then it's gone in one go! Hope you get a buyer although my mum is a proffesional sunday viewer - she's super noesy and that is her favourite past time, most annoying!!!!
